Top 5 Deserts in 5 Minutes: Number 4: Grilled Peaches with Whipped Amaretti Cream Recipe

by Clair on February 24, 2009

This weeks top 5 desert in 5 minutes is taking advantage of the last of this seasons peaches. You could also make this recipe using nectarines (just make sure they are the free stone varieties of peaches/nectarines or you will have trouble removing the stone).

Grilled Peaches with Whipped Amaretti Cream Recipe Ingredients

  • 1 ripe peach (or nectarine) per person
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar per peach
  • 1 tsp butter per peach
  • 200ml cream, lightly whipped
  • 2 amaretti biscuits, crushed (place in a plastic bag and whack a few times with a rolling pin)

Grilled Peaches with Whipped Amaretti Cream Recipe Method

Fold crushed amaretti biscuits through the whipped cream.

Heat the grill to high heat, and distance the tray approximately 10cm from the grill element. Cut the peaches in half and remove the stone. Place the peaches cut side down on the tray and heat under the grill until the skin blisters slightly. Turn the peaches over and sprinkle each peach half with half a tablespoon of brown sugar and half a teaspoon of butter. Place back under the grill and allow the butter and sugar to melt and the peach to blister slightly.

Place two peach halves on a serving plate for each person, and serve with the amaretti cream.
